MY INVOLVEMENT
FFA
Throughout high school (2015-2019) I was a part of the National FFA Organization which is an American youth organization, specifically a career and technical student organization, based on middle and high school classes that promote and support agricultural education. I was involved in FFA from my freshman year until I graduated and I was able to compete in different career and leadership developing events as well as attend different conferences on a regular basis.
Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority
When I was accepted into Florida International University I wanted to find a way to be more involved on campus, which is why I joined the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority in my Freshman year (2019). This organization has allowed me to have many experiences that have helped me grow and evolve as a person. I have been fortunate enough to work as the New Member Educator this past year and in this position I teach the New Members of our sorority about what being a sister truly means. I also help them grow throughout their process and develop leadership qualities that will help them throughout their life. The sorority is partnered with several international philanthropies via its Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation: the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders. Philanthropy was a big reason I joined the sorority, being able to help plan fundraisers and events we have raised thousands of dollars for each charitable organization.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
MVF PUP-E SPOTS Program Dog Trainer - This program trains rescued dogs into being all around well mannered pups. I started this program as a student at Felix Varela Senior High School (FVSH) and I am currently a Rotating Trainer for the program. We regularly train rescue dogs with FVSH's Agriscience program. A few students are chosen for the program and we teach them how to train dogs through science based, positive reinforcement, fear and pain free methods that meet veterinary standards of care. The goal of this program is to help the dogs be ready for adoption for their forever homes!

Redland Rock Pit Abandoned Dog project -This is a project that includes feeding dogs in the Redlands daily and searching for reputable rescues to house these dogs. Their goal is to be able to get them safely into rescue and eventually adopted into loving forever homes. I work with this rescue in helping them train the dogs they rescue to find their homes.

Pause for Paws: A service activity I created to incorporate my dog training and people with special needs. I volunteer my time visiting classrooms and facilities with young adults and children who are mentally or physically challenged. I provide mental enrichment for them with my therapy dog Ava! I also teach them about dogs and basic things about their behavior.
